About Gray Farms

Who We Are

Five people standing inside a greenhouse, surrounded by green plants, smiling for the photo.

At Gray Farms, we believe in caring for the land that’s cared for our family for generations. We grow food the way it’s meant to be grownβ€”slowly, intentionally, and with respect for the soil, the seasons, and the people we feed. Our work is grounded in quality, stewardship, and creating meaningful connection through everything we grow and offer.

Our Story

My wife Crystal and I both grew up on farms near Watseka, IL. When I graduated from college, I pursued a career at Motorola in Schaumburg, IL.

Around 2006-2007, Crystal and I were feeling a pull to move back to Iroquois County to be closer to family and friends while we planned a family of our own.

We farmed 10 acres of vegetables near Donovan, IL first, then we eventually moved back to the home/farm where I was raised.

It is a special opportunity to farm the ground that my Dad and Grandpa farmed!

Our Hope for the Future

It’s our hope that the work we do here continues to honor the generations before us and serve the generations still to come. We want our community to feel connected to the land in a real, tangible wayβ€”to taste the difference that care makes, to know their farmers, and to trust the food on their table. Most of all, we hope this farm remains a place where good things grow: healthy soil, nourishing food, and meaningful relationships that last far beyond a single season.
